Ken's Business Trip

Ken went on his first business trip ever in September this year: BodyBuilding.com sent him and another of their PHP programmers to the Zend/PHP Conference and Expo in Santa Clara, CA. He flew out of Boise the night of Sunday the 14th and got home the evening of Thursday the 18th.

The conference was basically a series of intensive workshops in PHP, the programming language Ken uses to help produce BodyBuilding's website. Essentially, he went to get smarter at what he does every day. =) In the evenings, he and his co-worker took advantage of their locale. One day they drove 45 minutes down to see the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (which was pretty much deserted that time of year) for about 15 minutes and another day they drove an hour up to tour San Fransisco for about 45 minutes. Not a lot you can do on such short jaunts except look around and take some pictures, but Ken had never seen either city before, and since I grew up in Santa Rosa (about 100 miles north of where he was), I was excited for him to finally see some favorite spots from my childhood, even if I couldn't be there.
